K&M Stands for the Environment

Since decades environmental protection is a guiding principle in our production process. Our deep commitment to quality and environment includes production with the most efficient use of raw materials, renewable energy ressources and reduced energy consumption, recyclability of all parts and retired products, elmination of harmful chemicals, minimized CO2 emissions, vastly reduced water usage, and restoration of water to drinking quality. Since 2000 König & Meyer has held ISO 14001 certification and since 1998 EU EMAS certification, both granted for effective, responsible stewardship of the environment.

Numerous changes have been implemented in the last year. For example, the promotion of carpooling via gas vouchers has led to the creation of many new carpools. And in Factory 1, a modern wood pellet heating system was installed that provides the majority of the heat supply there. In addition, the installation of a ventilation system has further improved the air quality in several departments.
