König & Meyer: From apprentice to export manager

When we redesigned our vocational training brochure, we talked to Export Manager Christian Kämmer about his vocational training and career at König & Meyer.
Here he tells his König & Meyer story:

"I started my industrial manager training at König & Meyer in 1999. Right during training, I had the opportunity to get first hand knowledge of all relevant areas of the company. This acquired knowledge about processes along with the targeted business training I received laid the foundation for my career path.
Once my vocational training was over, I specialized in my area of responsibility in the Export department of König & Meyer by taking evening classes and receiving additional training.
I became head of the Export department in 2010. Our 7-member team is responsible for all exports and imports for König & Meyer. My responsibilities include department organization, direct contact with our customers as well as the strategic development of our overseas business. I am happy that I decided to do my vocational training at König & Meyer in 1999. The comprehensive training, casual atmosphere as well as the excellent opportunities for further advancement at König & Meyer open up so many prospects, especially for young people.“
