Truck Stop is a German country band from Hamburg founded in 1973. Originally the band played English-language country music and released four albums, though sales began dropping. In 1976 they tried something different: \u201cDie Frau mit dem Gurt\u201d was their first song in German and was immensely popular. The band then decided to stick with German country songs.<\/p>\n
In 1979 Truck Stop took second place in the contest for the German contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest with \u201cTake it Easy, altes Haus\u201d. Since then the band has been a welcome guest on numerous television music shows and received many awards in the country music genre. They wrote and performed the title song for the popular television police show \u201cGro\u00dfstadrevier\u201d and collaborated with Stefan Raab on the \u201cMaschen-Draht-Zaun\u201d title song in 1999.<\/p>\n
Truck Stop has been one of our endorsers since March 1998, making them our very first band. They kicked off our era of endorsements.<\/p>\n
2013 – the anniversary year: Truck Stop celebrated 40 years and great times. Under the same name \u201c40 Jahre\u2026.geile Zeiten\u201d the new album was released and the band presented special anniversary shows. German country music is a guarantee of success for the band and so in 2015 two albums were released: “Country Freunde f\u00fcr immer” and “M\u00e4nner sind so”!<\/span><\/p>\n Hamburg is the band\u00b4s hometome. For 40 years the songs tell of truckers\u00b4 dreams, love and Hamburg. In 2016 Truck Stop presented the album “Unser Hamburg” (our Hamburg) with songs about their hometown. They thus fulfilled a small dream for themselves.<\/p>\n “Made in Germany” Club-Tour: less clich\u00e9s, more personality! Real music, handmade & honest!<\/p>\n 45 years of band history, that can show few artists in the music industry. A really good reason for the most successful German country band of all time to celebrate: 45 years – The great anniversary tour 2018. Also released was the associated album “The great anniversary”. Since the tour had to be postponed due to circumstances known worldwide, the band made online concerts possible. They were also busy in the studio and presented the new single “Mein Zuhaus” in November 2020 and the song “YEEHAW” in March 2021. \nAlready a year later, with the album “Ein St\u00fcckchen Ewigkeit” there was new music.<\/p>\nOnline concerts & new album<\/h3>\n
\nAt the end of the year the news was announced that after 44 years the bass player Uwe Lost leaves the band. His successor is also a Uwe. However, Uwe Frenzel is not the only newcomer. Also David Rick on guitar came, for Chris Kaufmann, in the following year new in the band. With this fresh spirit and the usual energy, the band headed into their 50th anniversary year in 2023, with a new album and, of course, the anniversary tour.
