More space for production, modern workflows and future growth: With the official groundbreaking ceremony on October 13, 2026, König & Meyer reached another milestone in the construction of its new facility in Wertheim at Reinhardshof. The project represents the largest investment in the company’s history to date.

The new site is already taking shape: the first sections of the building are in place, and construction is progressing at full speed. The groundbreaking ceremony therefore did not mark the actual start of construction, but symbolically ushered in the next phase of the project.

There are several reasons for the new facility, but the main one is clear: production needs more space. The plastics department at the existing Plant I is increasingly reaching its capacity limits as product variety expands, products grow in size and new machinery is introduced. The new site will provide the additional capacity required.

More Space for Plastics Manufacturing and Turning

At the heart of the project is a production hall covering approximately 3,400 square meters. It will accommodate the expanded plastics department as well as the turning department, which is currently based at Plant II in Wertheim Bestenheid. Relocating the turning department will free up space at Plant II, allowing production processes to be organized more efficiently and cost-effectively.

The production hall will be complemented by a two-story administration building with approximately 1,500 square meters of floor space. In addition to modern offices, the building will feature a showroom for product presentations and events.

Around 75 employees from the existing team will work at the new Reinhardshof site in the future.

A Strong Commitment to the Future

With this investment, König & Meyer is strengthening its presence in Wertheim and laying the foundations for future-ready production and the long-term preservation of jobs in the region.

“With this new facility, we are making a targeted investment in the future of our company and creating room for further growth. We remain committed to Wertheim as a manufacturing location,” said the Managing Director and shareholder Gabriela König at the groundbreaking ceremony.

Working Together Towards a Common Goal

A project of this scale can only succeed through collaboration. Gabriela König expressed her thanks to the City of Wertheim, the economic development agency, the municipal planning and construction departments, the building control authority, and the municipal utilities for their constructive cooperation. Special thanks also went to the bank for its trusty partnership in financing the project, the construction company for its professional planning and execution, and all employees whose expertise and commitment are helping bring the project to life.

Completion is scheduled for the end of 2027. The move and commissioning of the new facility are planned to take place in stages during the third and fourth quarters of 2027.

The project at Reinhardshof represents far more than a new building: it is a future-ready production site that will give König & Meyer more room for quality, innovation and growth while reaffirming the company’s strong ties to the region.

The Mayor of Wertheim Herrera-Torrez also praised the investment as a strong and positive signal for the region. He emphasized that it would not only help safeguard jobs but also demonstrate the company’s close connection to its home region. “A commitment to a location and to Germany of this kind can no longer be taken for granted,” he noted. König & Meyer also demonstrates a strong sense of social responsibility, supporting numerous local projects and organizations. The Mayor expressed how pleased he was to have such a deeply rooted and committed company in the city.
