König & Meyer is making strides with its quality and environmental management system.
That is why its environmental management system has once again been certified per EMAS and ISO 14001. This shows that K&M has managed to implement numerous changes since its last certification. For example, its promotion of carpooling via gas vouchers has led to the creation of many new carpools. And in Factory 1, a modern wood pellet heating system was installed that provides the majority of the heat supply there. In addition, the installation of a ventilation system has further improved the air quality in several departments.

The firm has also planned several improvements in the environmental sphere for the new business year. Among other things, thanks to modern insulation of the building and a complete overhaul of the production hall roof, energy consumption for the heat supply will be substantially reduced in Factory 1. In the lathe shop, we plan to further improve the air quality by installing an automatic ventilation system that ensures heat recovery.

The firm’s quality management has been certified according to ISO 9001 for the second time. In the process, all of K&M’s quality processes were closely inspected and its operational efficiency was reviewed. The inspectors issued special praise for the firm’s low complaint rate. But K&M not only articulates its high quality standard through ISO certification, but also through several product awards. For example, last business year the “Spider” keyboard stand and the Popkiller 23966 received accolades from prestigious music periodicals.

However, König & Meyer is by no means content to rest upon its laurels. With the help of an external consultant, we have therefore built up a comprehensive health and safety management system in recent months as well as an action plan for worker safety. Among other things, several work stations will be ergonomically overhauled and a noise reduction program will be implemented in several departments. In autumn, we will strive for the certification of our health and safety management system by the Employer's Liability Insurance Association with the quality seal “Sicher mit System” (“Systematic Safety”).
